ResaleInv, at resaleinv.com

Last updated 6 September 2026

About the numbers this app produces. ResaleInv helps you keep records and works out figures like cost of goods, profit and mileage from what you enter. Those are a record, not tax advice, and we can't verify them.

You're responsible for what you file. Check the figures with an accountant or tax preparer before relying on them, and keep your own receipts. We aren't liable for tax, penalties or interest arising from anything in this app.

Privacy

What we hold

Only what you put in, plus what's needed to run an account:

We don't run advertising, we don't sell anything to anyone, and we don't build profiles for marketing.

Who else touches it

Only these, and only to make the app work:

Who can see your records

Only people you've added to your inventory. Each business's data is separated in the database itself, not just in the app, so one customer's records can't be reached from another's account. Photos are stored privately and shown through links that expire.

We may access data if you ask us to for support, or if we're legally required to.

Keeping and deleting it

Your records stay while your account exists. If your subscription lapses the app becomes read-only — nothing is deleted, and you can still read and export everything.

You can export all your records to a spreadsheet at any time from the app.

You can delete everything yourself, immediately. In the app, go to Team and settings and choose "Delete this business". It removes every item, photo, lot, expense and mileage record, for everyone in that business, straight away — not in 30 days, and without asking us. Only the owner can do it, and you'll be asked to type the business name first.

Your sign-in survives, so you can start again later with the same email if you want to. If you'd rather we did it for you, email us and we'll do it within 30 days. Some billing records are kept longer where the law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold, and to object to how it's used. Email us and we'll help. We won't treat you differently for asking.

The Chrome extension

The listing helper extension shows your own inventory beside whatever page you're on, so you can copy details into a marketplace's form. It's optional and separate from the app.

What it does: signs you in to the same account, reads your own items, and lets you copy text, download your photos, and mark items as posted. Your sign-in is stored locally in your browser so you don't have to sign in each time.

What it does not do: it never asks for, stores or uses a password for Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, Depop, Vinted or any other marketplace. It has no permission to read, change or interact with any marketplace's website — it can only reach our own database. It doesn't track which pages you visit, and it collects no analytics.

If you connect eBay

Connecting eBay is optional, and nothing about the rest of the app depends on it. If you do connect it, here's exactly what that means.

We never see your eBay password. You sign in on eBay's own site and they hand us a token that says you've allowed this app to act for you.

What that token allows. Creating, editing and ending listings on your account, and reading your business policies. It does not allow access to your payment details, your money, your password, or your buyers' personal information.

How it's stored. Encrypted, with a key that isn't in the database. Someone who obtained the whole database would have nothing they could use.

Stopping it. Disconnect in the app at any time and we forget the token. To remove this app's access at eBay's end as well, do that in your eBay account settings — disconnecting here doesn't do that for you.

The camera, and what stays on your phone

The camera is used for two things: taking photos of an item, and scanning a barcode. Both happen when you tap the button and not otherwise — nothing runs in the background. A barcode is read on your own phone; only the number leaves it, and only to look a book up.

The app keeps a copy of your inventory on your phone so it opens and works with no signal — the item list, the photos you've looked at, and anything you added while offline waiting to upload. That copy lives in your browser's own storage, is only readable by this site, and goes when you sign out or clear your browser data.

If you'd rather it didn't, signing out clears it. Everything is still on the server.

If you use the microphone

You can describe an item out loud instead of typing it. Two things happen, and they're worth separating.

The listening is done by your browser, not by us. On Chrome and most Android browsers that means the audio goes to Google, who turn it into text. We never receive the recording and it isn't stored anywhere by us. That's how speech recognition works on the web — the same as dictating into any other website.

The text is then sent to us, and on to Anthropic, to work out which words are the title, the price and the shop. It isn't used to train anything and isn't kept beyond answering.

The microphone only listens while you're holding the button and it stops on its own. If you'd rather not use it at all, type instead — nothing needs it, and on browsers that don't support it the option doesn't appear.

Listings, and what the AI writes

The app can draft a title, description and keywords for an item from its details and photo. That's a starting point, not a finished listing.

Read it before you post it. A generated description doesn't know whether something is genuinely authentic, what condition it's really in, or whether you're allowed to sell it. Claims about brand, authenticity, materials or condition are yours to verify.

Listings post as you. When you connect a marketplace and press the button, the listing appears on your account under your name, and that marketplace holds you to their rules — not us. If a listing breaks their policies, the consequences land on your selling account.

We clean up obvious formatting problems before posting — over-long titles, shouting, decorative punctuation that marketplaces penalise. We can't check whether what a listing says is true.

If you share an inventory and it ends

Two people using one inventory is a common way to work, and sometimes those arrangements end. It's worth knowing what happens to the records.

Whoever owns the business keeps everything. Removing someone takes away their access immediately. Their items, expenses and mileage stay, and their name stays on them — nothing is deleted.

But the person who leaves loses access to figures they may still need. If you each file your own taxes, your share of the year's costs and profits lives in that inventory, and you won't be able to reach it once you're removed. Export before you leave, or before you remove anyone. The app warns about this at the time, and the export takes seconds.

We can't arbitrate between two people who disagree about whose records are whose. What we can do is make sure both of you can take a full copy at any time, which is why the export is always available and never limited.

Storage on your device

Your browser remembers that you're signed in, so you don't have to type your password every time, along with a couple of small preferences like which categories you've collapsed. That's all. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing that follows you to other websites.

How we measure visits

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see roughly how many people visit and which pages they land on. It's privacy-first: no cookies, no fingerprinting, and no tracking you across other websites. We can see that a page was visited and roughly where in the world from — we cannot see who you are or follow you around.

That's why there's no cookie banner on this site. There's nothing to consent to.

Where it's held

Data is stored and processed in the United States. If you're using this from elsewhere, that means your information is transferred there.

Children

This is a tool for businesses and isn't intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Security, honestly stated

Access is controlled at the database level, photos are private, and payment details never reach us. But no service is perfectly secure, and we can't promise otherwise. Use a password you don't use elsewhere.

Terms of use

What you're getting

A subscription to use ResaleInv to track your own reselling business. It's provided as it is — we work to keep it running and correct, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself, and you're responsible for what happens under your account. Anyone you add to your inventory can see and change everything in it, so add people you trust.

Trial, payment and canceling

Fair use of the AI features

Plans include a monthly allowance of AI generations. If you go past it, those features pause until the next month or until you move to a larger plan. Everything else keeps working.

What you may not do

Your content stays yours

Your records and photos belong to you. You give us permission to store and display them so the app can work, and to send them to the services listed above for the same reason. Nothing more.

And ours stays ours

The app itself — the code, the wording, the design, the calculators and guides on this site — belongs to us. You're welcome to use all of it as a customer, and to quote or link to any of it. What you can't do is copy it wholesale to build something else, or rebrand the service as your own.

Ideas aren't owned by anybody. If you build your own reseller app because you liked something here, that's competition and it's fine. Lifting the pages word for word isn't.

If you send people here

There are two ways to be rewarded for that, and you can't have both on the same person — whichever link they actually arrived on is the one that counts.

Telling a friend. Once you're subscribed you get a link in the menu. Send it to another reseller and when they subscribe you both get a free month, applied as a credit against your next bill. You need an active subscription yourself for that credit to have somewhere to go, which is why the link appears when you subscribe rather than during a trial. Nothing to agree to.

Writing or making videos about it. 30% of what each person you send pays, for their first twelve months. You accept the full terms in the app before you get a link, and they're worth reading — the short version is that it's paid monthly after their payment clears, it's reversed if they refund or charge back, it's one reward per business ever, and it isn't for referring yourself or accounts you control. Doing that ends it.

We pay by the method we agree, once a month. If we pay you more than $600 in a calendar year we're required to collect a W-9 and file a 1099-NEC, so we'll ask for your details before you get there.

We can end this arrangement, for you or for everybody, at any time. Anything already earned on real customers still gets paid.

Refunds

Within the first 30 days, ask and you get all of it back. No reason needed. A month is long enough to know whether this suits how you work.

After that, if you paid for a year, you get the unused months back, rounded up. Cancel in March having paid in January and that's ten months returned. Monthly subscriptions aren't refunded for the month you're in, since you've had it — but they stop straight away and you're not charged again.

Email support@resaleinv.com and say you'd like a refund. There's no form and nobody will try to talk you out of it.

How long we keep your records

Stopping your subscription doesn't delete anything. Your account goes read-only: you can still sign in, look at everything and export it, including next January when you need last year's figures. We'll also email you a copy at the moment your subscription ends, so you have it without having to think about it.

We delete an account after three years with no sign-in at all. Not three years since you cancelled — three years since anyone last opened it. That lines up with how far back tax records are normally asked for, and we'll email you twice before it happens: a month before, and a week before.

You can also delete everything yourself at any time, immediately, from inside the app. That's instant and we can't undo it.

Ending it

You can stop any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or doesn't pay, and we'll give you a chance to export your records first unless the law prevents it.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for lost profits, lost data, tax consequences, or any indirect loss. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to what you've paid us in the previous 12 months.

This matters most around tax. Keep your own receipts and have a professional check your figures.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that affects you, we'll say so in the app or by email before it takes effect.

What we're responsible for, and what we're not

This is a tool for keeping records. It is not an accountant, a tax adviser, or a guarantee about anything that happens on a marketplace. Specifically:

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected to this service is limited to what you've paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Some places don't allow that kind of limit, and where that's true, this paragraph doesn't apply to you.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, USA.

Wherever you live

We're in South Carolina and most of our customers are in the US, but the same rights apply to everyone here regardless of where you are — we didn't want two standards.

You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, give you a copy, or delete it. The first three you can do yourself in the app without asking; deletion too, from Team and settings. If you'd rather we did it, email and we'll do it within 30 days.

We don't sell your data, share it for advertising, or profile you. There's nothing to opt out of because we don't do it. That covers what California, Colorado, Virginia and similar state laws ask for, and what the UK and EU rules ask of a business our size.

If you're in the UK or EU: our basis for holding your records is performing the contract you signed up for, and you can complain to your local data protection authority if you think we've got something wrong.

Using it with a screen reader, or without a mouse

We build this to be usable with a keyboard and a screen reader, and check contrast against the usual standards. We won't claim it's perfect — it's one person and there will be things we've missed.

If something is hard to use, tell us and we'll fix it, and we'll tell you when it's done. support@resaleinv.com. That's a better promise than a compliance badge, and it's one we can keep.
