Free reseller inventory spreadsheet

Track what you bought, what it cost, what it sold for and what you kept — across Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, Depop and Vinted. Profit works itself out. No email, no signup, nothing to unsubscribe from.

Four tabs, ready to use:

Works in Excel, Numbers, and Google Sheets — in Sheets, use File then Import then Upload.

How to use it

Fill in the white columns as you go. The Profit column and everything on the Summary tab work themselves out, so there's nothing to calculate.

There's one example row in each tab showing the expected format. Delete it once you've started.

The important habit is entering what you paid at the time you buy it. Almost everyone means to do it later and then can't remember, and a cost you guessed at is worse than useless at tax time.

What a spreadsheet can't do

This is a genuinely useful spreadsheet and it's free. But it's worth being straight about where it runs out.

It isn't on your phone. You're standing in a booth deciding whether to buy something, and your records are on a laptop at home.

You can't share it. If you source with a partner, one of you owns the file and the other is texting details across.

It starts over. Most people begin a fresh one each January, so last year's history lives in a different file.

Nothing tells you what needs doing. Sold on eBay but still listed on Poshmark? A spreadsheet won't mention it.

When you outgrow it

Resale Inventory does everything this does — plus photos, live sharing with a partner, and a to-do list that catches what you've missed. It imports this exact spreadsheet, so nothing gets retyped and your history comes with you.

Common questions

Is it really free?

Yes, and there's no email form. It's here because if you outgrow it, we'd like you to think of us — that's the whole arrangement.

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Yes. File, then Import, then Upload. The formulas carry across.

Can I change it?

It's yours. Add columns, delete tabs, whatever suits how you sell.

Will it do my taxes?

No. It keeps the records your preparer will ask for — cost of goods, sale prices, fees, expenses and mileage. What you file is between you and them.
